Driving lessons Len Waters Estate

Lessons on the roads you will be tested on

Despite the name, Len Waters Estate is not a housing estate. It is the business precinct on Cowpasture Road beside the Westlink M7, with Bunnings, Aldi, the Woolworths and BIG W distribution centres and the Hoxton Park bus depot, and street names like Airfield Drive, Aviation Road and Blackbird Close recall the old Hoxton Park aerodrome it was built on. It is named after Len Waters, Australia's first Aboriginal military pilot. Most people learning here are picked up from work or the shops, and the estate is ringed by exactly the kind of roads a learner needs before a test.

Local context

Preparation for the Edmondson Park Service NSW driving test

Of the two Service NSW centres, Edmondson Park at Ed Square is the closer, about 7.5 km from the estate or roughly ten minutes via the M7 and Bernera Road. Liverpool on Orange Grove Road is about 10 km away along Hoxton Park Road. Your lessons run on the roads around whichever centre you book, rehearsing the merges, signalised turns, parking and observation habits assessors mark on the day. Learners who book Liverpool can compare it with our Liverpool driving lessons on the Orange Grove Road test routes.

Training progresses from Len Waters Estate streets to the traffic, lane discipline, observation and manoeuvre standards expected around Ed Square, Edmondson Park.

Len Waters Estate roads

Airfield Drive, Cowpasture Road and the M7 interchange

Sydney South Driving School provides driving lessons with free pick-up from workplaces and shops in Len Waters Estate, and from homes in the suburbs around it. The estate has no quiet residential streets of its own, so lessons use it for what it does have: car parks, heavy vehicles, busy traffic lights and motorway ramps.

First lessons start next door

Because the estate is shops and warehouses, a first-ever lesson begins in the residential streets beside it. Aviation Road runs along the edge Len Waters Estate shares with Elizabeth Hills and meets Regentville Drive at a roundabout, which leads straight into calm estate streets where the controls, steering and smooth stopping can be learned with no trucks around.

Car parks on the Cowpasture Road side

The Bunnings, Aldi, fast-food and service-station sites along Cowpasture Road are good low-speed hazard practice. Cars reverse out of bays without warning and shoppers walk between vehicles with trolleys, so a learner has to cover the brake and scan continuously. The same car parks suit reverse parking once the car's size is judged reliably.

Trucks and buses on Airfield Drive

Airfield Drive is the estate's main road. It runs in from traffic lights on Cowpasture Road past the Hoxton Park bus depot, with the Woolworths and BIG W distribution centres between it and Blackbird Close, which leads off Aviation Road. That makes it a 50 km/h road where a learner shares space with trucks and buses: leaving a bigger gap, anticipating wide turns and checking mirrors before moving around a stopped vehicle. The roundabouts where Airfield Drive meets Aviation Road bring large vehicles into give-way decisions too.

Cowpasture Road and the Westlink M7

Cowpasture Road runs along the estate and through part of it, separating it from Hinchinbrook and Green Valley, while the Westlink M7 runs along the side facing Middleton Grange and Hinchinbrook. The Cowpasture Road interchange sits beside the estate, with traffic lights at its motorway ramps. Later lessons use it for merging onto the M7 at speed and exiting cleanly, and the quickest drive to the Edmondson Park test centre starts on the same ramps.

School zones a short drive away

There are no schools inside the estate, but Good Samaritan Catholic College on Hoxton Park Road, Middleton Grange Public School and Hinchinbrook Public School all sit just beyond its boundary roads. School-zone timing is practised there at the start and end of the school day.

FAQ

Common questions before you book

Clear answers about lessons, pricing and local test preparation.

Do you run driving lessons in Len Waters Estate?

Yes. Len Waters Estate sits inside Ashraf's Liverpool service area, so lessons run seven days a week from 7am to 7pm. Free pick-up is included from any workplace or shop in the estate, and from homes in the neighbouring suburbs.

Can you pick me up from work at the end of a shift?

Yes, as long as the lesson falls between 7am and 7pm. Tell us which site you work at when you book, whether that is a distribution centre off Blackbird Close, the bus depot on Airfield Drive or one of the Cowpasture Road stores, and Ashraf will meet you there.

Which test centre is closer?

Edmondson Park. Ed Square is about 7.5 km from the estate, roughly ten minutes via the M7 and Bernera Road, while Liverpool on Orange Grove Road is about 10 km away. Your lessons run on the roads around whichever centre you book.

How much does a driving lesson cost?

A single hour is $80 and two hours is $150, with pick-up and drop-off included. Five and ten hour packages bring the hourly rate down, and there is a test-day package that includes a warm-up lesson plus car hire.

Do lessons count as three logbook hours?

Yes. Ashraf is accredited by Transport for NSW, so if you are under 25 each hour you drive records as three logbook hours, up to 10 professional hours, which is 30 logbook hours.

Can I use your car for the driving test?

Yes. The test-day package includes a warm-up lesson immediately before your booking and use of the automatic car you have been learning in for the Service NSW assessment.

I have never driven before. Where do we start?

Not in the estate itself. A first lesson starts in the quiet residential streets next door in Elizabeth Hills, at walking-pace speeds, with Ashraf talking you through every control. Airfield Drive, Cowpasture Road and the M7 come later, once the basics are steady.

How soon can I get a quote and start?

Send the quote form on this page and we reply within one business day, usually sooner. If you would rather book straight away, call 02 8277 9091 any day between 7am and 7pm.
